Naomi Scott’s Husband: The Actress Met Jordan Spence in Church (2024)

Naomi Scott had big ambitions as a teenager and hadn't considered she would find the one that young. But after meeting the man who would become her husband, she decided there was room for love after all. Years later, she and Jordan Spence sealed the deal.

English native Naomi Scott drew her first breath in London on May 6, 1993, born to Christopher and Usha Scott (née Joshi). She debuted onscreen as part of the main cast of the 2000s Disney sitcom "Life Bites." Alongside Nicola Posener and Dominique Moore, she played Megan.

Scott took a hiatus in 2010 and returned to screens in the beloved teen comedy, "Lemonade Mouth," in 2011. That year, she also starred as Maddy Shannon in the mystery adventure "Terra Nova." She appeared in several film shorts afterward before portraying Escarlette in the 2015 biographical film, "The 33."

On "The 33," she starred alongside Hollywood heavyweights Antonio Banderas and James Brolin. In 2017, she was Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, in the film rendition of the longtime series, "Power Rangers." Scott won her breakout role as Princess Jasmine in the 2019 live-action "Aladdin" opposite Will Smith and Meena Massoud.

That year, she also joined the "Charlie's Angels" franchise as Elena Houghlin with Kristen Stewart and Ella Balinska. Scott recently starred in Netflix's "Anatomy of a Scandal" with Rupert Friend and will soon lead the romance film, "Eternal Epic," with "Game of Thrones" alum Kit Harrington and Jeremy Irons.

Additionally, Scott, who recently transitioned to behind-the-scenes work as a label co-founder and director, is also a singer. The actress, a philanthropist alongside her partner, is not leading her endeavors alone as her promising career blossoms.

Naomi Scott Is a Married Woman - She Met Her Husband in Church as a Teenager

Scott was 16 when she met Jordan Spence at her parents' church. He was her first boyfriend; nearly five years later, he became her husband. The pair have been married since July 2014. Although she was born to pastors, Scott didn't have a stereotypical "pastor's kid" upbringing.

Her parents never forbade dating, and it wasn't in her cards at that age until she met Spence. And after seeing him, she confessed, "I was like, yeah! I feel like we could... do life together." Since becoming a couple, Scott has placed her faith at the center of all her decisions in her work and marriage.

She shared that she and Spence had big aspirations in their respective fields but sometimes took a step back to reassess where their relationship stood in the big picture. "Sometimes Jordan and I say, OK, if I never acted in a movie again, if he never set foot on a football pitch, would our world fall apart?" the actress mused.

Besides their deep conversations, the couple also knows how to have fun, often having spontaneous two-person dance parties at home. In fact, dancing is an unusual remedy Spence uses for Scott's eczema. Every time it starts to itch, he puts on a song and encourages her to dance. He also cooks for his wife almost every night.

Naomi Scott's Husband, Jordan Spence, Is a Star in His Own Right

Spence's career in football began in the late 2000s when he played for the West Ham United Football Club. West Ham became his primary team, but the star has played for several other clubs on loan, including Leyton Or, Bristol C, Ipswich, and MK Dons, between 2008 and 2019.

He has since been hailed as a "highly regarded talent" who plays with Premiere League caliber. In addition to excelling in football, Spence, an active social media user, joined his wife in the entertainment industry. The couple founded their label New Name Entertainment in early 2020.

They started working on the project in 2018, gathering information and solidifying their vision for the joint enterprise. Under New Name Entertainment, they also launched a fund for youngsters pursuing artistic careers and education.

At the time of writing, their website stated they were funding two such people for the 2022/2023 academic year. In addition, Spence and Scott are also offering "proactive mentoring, intentional community building, and career development support" under the New Name Fund.

Naomi Scott and Her Husband Are Also Known for Their Charity Work

Scott is the brand ambassador of the Christian charity Compassion UK. Alongside Spence, she has actively engaged in philanthropy, helping the organization and its local church partners to improve extreme poverty conditions across the globe.

Compassion UK sponsors basic needs such as education, healthcare, and financial assistance for families. Scott has emphasized the organization's goal and role in equipping poverty-stricken communities with tools to help themselves.

The main demographic that Compassion UK targets are women and children. In 2019, Scott represented the charity in Kigali, Rwanda. "Rwanda is such an incredible country. The communities I visited as part of the Different Path appeal were amazing and the people I met were so resilient," she recalled.

She added that "coming together" was the underlying theme of the trip. Through her work, Scott also follows her passion for "instilling value and hope" in young girls. She believes that when women feel hopeful and valued, they're more likely to dream big and stand confidently, knowing they have something to offer.

Like Scott, Spence is also a Christian. They regularly discuss their faith and how it influences their careers. For the actress, believing in God is deeply integrated into her identity, but not without room for her curiosity to expand it. It helps keep her grounded, evokes peace, and helps her maintain an "incredible" focus against all odds.
