1.ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS FOR O VISA

This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for the following purposes:

to stay after retirement for the elderly (aged 50 years or above)
to stay with the family (spouse, children, adopted child) (
to receive medical treatment
to perform duties for the state enterprise or volunteer with social welfare organizations
to be a sport coach as required by Thai Government
to be a contestant or witness for the judicial process
to visit Thailand (applicable to only those who ever hold Thai nationality before)

2. O VISA CONDITIONS

2.1 O Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 90-day period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days, counting from the date of entry.During the 90-day period of stay, if they wish to leave and re-enter Thailand, they are required to apply for a re-entry permit (single or multiple) before departure. If they leave Thailand without a re-entry permit, the current stay permit shall be considered void.

2.2 Extention of visa is possible.Those qualified may obtain an additional one-year stay permit, counting from the date of entry to Thailand. 2.3 If the O Visa holder breaches the entry conditions, the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

3.O VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURES

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**

When applying, please exercise extra caution in choosing the right TYPE OF PASSPORT. If you are not a government officer, DO NOT choose "Official/Service Passport"; instead, choose "Ordinary Passport".
Once submitted, the visa applicationcannot be amended.
If there are mistakes in the application, e.g.wrong spelling of names or wrong passport numbers,the application will be rejected.
Applicants will be required to apply and pay again.No refund is possible.
Applicants must ensure that all their details are correctbefore submitting and paying for their applications.

1. Verification link will be sent via email.
2. Your account can be used to apply for an e-Visa for yourself and also other people in your family (up to 10 applications at a time).

Apply for a new visa
1. Check your eligibility & choose visa category
2. Upload biodata page of passport & a photo taken within the last 6 months (must be in JPG or .JPEG format, Size not exceeding 3 MB)

  2. Applicant is required to upload his/her passport pages which contain all travel records for the past 12 months (1 year) since the last international trip.
  3. Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency.
  4. Please upload your picture holding the photo and information page of the passport.
6. Upload additional supporting documents, as determined by purposes of visit
  1. For retirees aged 50 and over ("O" Retirement)
    1. Those who are above 50 but have not yet retired cannot apply for this type of visa; they are advised to apply for the O-A visa, insteadCLICK HERE.
    2. Pension notification with a monthly net amount of not less than €1,000 per month for single entry. If other forms of monthly income, e.g. interest earning or dividends, are submitted instead of pension payment, the applicant must also provide proof of their retirement status.
    3. If the pension is lower than required, a copy of bankbook with the remaining balance of at least€5,000
    4. Health insurance policy document for the entire intended period of stay in Thailand with the following coverage:
      - Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB or 1,300 EUR, and
      - Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 400,000 THB or 13,000 EUR.
  2. For those who need to stay with family residing or working in Thailand
    1. Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party(20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family)
    2. Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand
    3. Personal datails of a family in Thailand, e.g. ID card, Passport and the visa page or stay permit in Thailand
      - In case the family member is non-Thai: copy of the visa or work permit of a spouse, parent, or child who is currently residing or working in Thailand
      - In case the family member is Thai: proof of Thai nationality of family member (copy of passport, ID card or household registration certificate)
    4. Proof of family relationship, e.g. copy of marriage certificate or birth certificate, registration of legitimate child, household registration certificate, adoption certificate, or other evidence issued by the competent authorities or government agency
    5. Additional document required for those who are married to Thai nationals: proof of income, either party or both must have a total income of not less than 1,000 EUR per month. If the non-Thai antional does not have the said minimum income, he/she must provide proof of an account deposit in Thailand in the name of either party or both of not less than 400,000 THB for the previous 3 months.
  3. For those who will receive medical treatment or look after a patient
    1. Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party(20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family)
    2. Letter of appointment from hospital/medical center
    3. Copy of hospital/medical center registration certificate
    4. In case of looking after a patient, confirmation and request has been made by the physician responsible for the treatment
  4. For those who perform duties for the state enterprise or volunteer (unpaid) with social welfare organizations
    1. Letter confirming voluntary work signed by authorized person together with a copy of ID card or passport of the sign
    2. Registration license of NGO/Charity/Association issued by competent authority
    3. Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family)
    4. Proof of the applicant’s education and work experience
  5. For those who will be a contestant or witness for the judicial process
    1. Proof of involvement in litigation or judicial proceedings as complainant, the aggrieved party, accused, plaintiff, defendant / Confirmation letter from the inquiry officer in charge of the case or official letter or document from the authority concerned indicating that the applicant is involved in a case judicial proceeding
    2. Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party(20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family)

4. O VISA PROCESSING TIME

Usually 3-10 working days, depending on the completeness of documents, type of visa, and nationality of the applicants.
Please apply for e-Visaat least a month(but no longer than 3 months) before travelling.
Applications by certain nationals can take up to 3 months for approval.
The Royal Thai Embassy cannot accommodate urgent requests. The applicants must ensure that they leave sufficient time for their visa application process before their planned departure.

5.REMARKS

Documents in foreign languages must be translated into Thai or into English.
In the absence of a required document, a letter explaining the unavailability of such document must be provided.
Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents as deemed necessary.
Visa processing fee is subject to change without prior notice.
Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visaonlyat the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy.
The applicants must provide genuine documents and information. If the applicants provide fraudulent documents or false information, their applications will be rejected and they may be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future
